Fair?

It's sad really. On more than one front.

One person looses what they once had.
The other person wants it gone. All of it.

One person constantly re-cants how things once were.
The other person constantly complains on how things are.

Who is at a loss?

One person desires the past to re-written; as does the other person.
The difference?

Nothing. Both are miserable at times.
Both are happy with each other.
